No, I think that Chili was a good guy, or at least an anti-hero. I’m thinking along the lines of Broken Arrow, Face/Off, Swordfish, and Battlefield Earth. I liked him as the investigator on The General’s Daughter.

Eddy, We need a third incarnation of Pelham about as much as we need a feature version of The A-Team, which the Scott brothers are producing. As for Travolta, would you count Chili Palmer as a bad guy? I liked Get Shorty (Be Cool, not so much).

With The Wedding Planner I was just trying to think of a similar movie role. Well, similar in that it was, if you’ll excuse the expression, a chick flick.

In regard to the other trailers, Funny People looks interesting, but I agree with you in that it looks like they give you the whole movie in a nutshell.

I’m looking forward to Angels and Demons. I’ve read the books and I’ve always contended that A&D was a better book than The Da Vinci Code.

In The Taking of Pelham 123, do we really need a 3rd version of this? For some reason I always like John Travolta better as a good guy. Perhaps they should have reversed the roles.

I’m looking forward to Public Enemies and Inglorious Basterds.

The Wedding Planner? You are kind, Eddy. I'd have to go back to A Time to Kill or a supporting role in Boys on the Side, where he played a cop named Abe Lincoln. We shouldn't have to dig that deeply to find evidence of his talent.

A Time to Kill. Maybe EdTV or The Wedding Planner? We Are Marshall wasn’t too bad. So in answer to your question, 1996 for sure, but perhaps as late as 2006.

Public Enemies and Inglorious Basterds look cool and Funny People made me laugh out loud, but the rest don’t look all that promising.
