good lord was I smoking something when I wrote that comment? I did not mean “wrong” I meant “wrote” …whoa, I bet Freud would have a field day with that! Ha! But, no, I completely agree with you PCN. Being a character junkie, I LOVE to see character development, growth, change. One of the major reasons I’m such a fan of series. A good series should, IMHO, show such things of its characters. It also shows the growth of its author!

As much as I loved the series, I thought Mystic River and Shutter Island were even richer and deeper. I can't wait to see Lehane bring that growth to Patrick & Angie, especially since they're more mature now. I don't want anybody---the author or his characters---to go back in time.

Good news all around. I’m very interested to see what happens with Lehane’s new Patrick and Angie book. He himself commented on how he’s a different writer now. I wonder if people will want the writer he was then…I love the writer he’s become but I’m also a HUGE fan of Shutter Island and I’ve heard so many people say, “I really liked Lehane when he wrong Angie and Patrick but I didn’t like his later stuff.” So, it will be interesting! 🙂

Reader#9, Ellen Page would make an excellent Lisbeth. She’s supposed to look like a diminutive teen. Noomi Rapace looks more 20s in this photo but she seems to have the right general vibe/attitude.

First of all I am indeed glad Lehane is bringing back the much missed Patrick and Angie. There must be more stories there and I am dying to read more.

As for The Girl With The Dragon Tatoo, I thought Lisbeth would be at least a little more attractive. Maybe that’s the point? I always thought it would be a dumbed down Ellen Page.

My simple joy for the day is being able to comment here second. 🙂 I’m excited through osmosis ~ have yet to read any Dennis Lehane or {I hang my head} the Stieg Larssons {much as I love dragon tattoos 🙂 }. Maybe I’ll just give in and wait for the movies to come out!
