I watched the replay last night ~ the highlights for me were Robert Downey, Jr.’s award, glimpses of Simon Baker, and Colin Firth on the red carpet. And now that I’ve surprised you, I’ll add that I had some chuckles from Ricky Gervais, but maybe it’s like having too high an expectation of a movie that’s had rave reviews. I thought Mel Gibson handled it well. Aussies can generally laugh at jokes at their own expense!

YES, GUILIANA DE-LAME-O was awful….her Q&A with nominee Anna Kendrick was embarrassing…the whole focus was on a co-star she had in a movie”….what was George Clooney like?” “…tell me about George…” “Oh, George is right there!……GEORGE!” embarrassing.

I think it’s incredible you’re not a slave to TV. I can’t say I’ve ever heard of anyone who said on their deathbed, “I wish I’d watched more television.”

Sounds like Alafair would’ve done a lot better than some of the “reporters” I saw on the red carpet. Giuliana DePandi on E! was especially embarrassing.

I did not watch the awards – I know you so surprised since I don’t have a working TV, but Alafair Burke tweeted through the entire event and I think her tweets were probably funnier than the show. She needs to be one of the reporter-people on the red carpet!
