You keep reading, I’ll keep writing (snarky things about bad Idol wannabes).
]]>Thanks a lot!
]]>I’m also glad I’m not in the Bowersox-train-to-Awesome alone. And, by the way, aren’t you nervous/excited that Crystal might drop the guitar next week?
(Also, our hypothetical CB/MC conversation didn’t turn out as expected).
]]>I’m firmly in the Bowersox camp with you. I fear she won’t win, but I don’t see how anyone else can feel they deserve it more.
I was thinking the same thing about song selections. I thought, “Why do people keep choosing that lame Aerosmith song? Has ANYONE in the history of Idol ever gotten good feedback performing that?”
If anyone can win on goodwill alone, it’s Didi. It’s funny how she turns in shaky performances but we remain fans and keep rooting for her.
]]>People keep telling Crystal to challenge herself more but the girl can’t help it that she’s so talented, not much challenges her. I’ve tried to sing “Bobby McGee” in karaoke and oof, it is CRAZY hard to do. She just makes it look easy.
]]>Welcome, and thank you!
You are now entering the danger zone. Before you know it, AI will suck hours, possibly days, from your life.
My favorite is Crystal, too. Siobhan is talented, but she has got to stop that gimmicky screaming note at the end of every song now.
]]>What I didn’t understand was why did (almost) everyone pick songs done to death on the Idol stage. I mean, Against All Odds? Really? No one, and I mean, NO ONE has ever had a moment with that one. Though I started liking Aaron Kelly this week, I was actually thinking “I think I’d rather miss this thing”. And, of course, I Heard It Through the Grapevine was butchered in unspeakable ways by Andrew “thankyouIloveyou” Garcia. Completely butchered, then brought back non-living just to be annihilated and butchered again.
About Siobhan. I do love her. Her goofiness cannot be simulated. She’s the real deal. I’d actually watch a whole reality series centered around her (“What does that mean?”). And I do understand her point about the cathartic effect of the screech, but she risks the Gokey(Scream On)-comparison if she continues the same formula.
And I liked Didi’s performance as well. Yeah, I’ll admit it wasn’t great, but she came out sexy and I felt she did connect with the song and had fun.
On the other hand, I didn’t think Miley was that bad of a mentor. Just the people -with the possible exception of Urban and Crystal- didn’t listen to her. In Tim’s case didn’t work, but Crystal took her performance to a whole new level.
MAMASOX FOR THE WIN (I hope)!
