You’d only have to read Gone, Baby, Gone to get what’s going on in this book so I’d recommend doing that. If you’re REALLY inclined to cheat, you can watch the movie because it’s well done.

BTW, what does your bf like, movies-wise? I think I know what you like (Miss Congeniality). Maybe I can help suggest titles so you can find more cohesion?

Ben can give it another go but he’d have to recast the leads. In this book, Patrick and Angie are in their 40s and I wouldn’t buy either Casey or Michelle Monaghan as that.

Hey, PCN, this is a well-written review. No real spoilers and I licked it up as though I were a kitten in front of a bowl of milk. I’ve been wondering what would happen after GONE BABY GONE. That closing scene in the book and the movie still resonates with me. Every time I’m out in public and watch a parent who clearly shouldn’t be allowed to have kids, deal with their kids in a messed up manner, I think about GBG. Looking forward to tearing through Lehane’s Moonlight Mile.

I’ve never read Dennis Lehane but I would really like to. I’m adding GONE, BABY, GONE to my impossibly tall TBR pile… or could I totally cheat and watch the movie (I seriously NEVER do that, but my bf and I have not been finding movie-cohesion lately and this might be a nice compromise) so I can get in to MOONLIGHT MILE more quickly? As always you’re a very influential reviewer… Publishers should put that truckload in your driveway!
