The series already aired in the UK and has been available online, but is only just being released on PBS in the US. Great fun, and I’ve rediscovered Elizabeth McGovern who plays the patriarch’s American wife.

Agree with your Off The Map review. I think ABC must have established a good working relationship with the film bureau in Hawaii and figured all they’d have to do is populate existing locations with pretty people, including one scruffy-looking, anti-social dude with awesome abs, and they’d be good.
