I’m also liking the frontrunners a lot, and I’m kind’a enjoying that it doesn’t look like it’s set in stone (except, perhaps for Bale and Firth), but Natalie Portman and Annette Bening seem to be head to head, and Amy Adams & Melissa Leo too (I mean, Leo didn’t even get a BAFTA nom, and she won de BFCA & GG)…
Let’s see what the SAG has to say…
]]>I’m liking the frontrunners this year. Last year I disagreed with some of the winners, at both the Globes and the Oscars.
]]>Anyway, Gervais fucking killed.
]]>Basically, I agree with everything you wrote. I’d have to add a few things.
I liked how Sofia Vergara hugged Jane Lynch with enthusiasm when the GG was given to the latter, specially after Ed O’Neil’s botched interview about the Emmys. I also watched the “Funny or Die” skit of Glee which only shows how good sports Vergara is.
I also loved how excited Melissa Leo was when she won. And loved the “I’m not that kind of girl” joke she threw in her speech.
Though I was expecting it, I’m still psyched Colin Firth finally has some recognition this side of the “pond”, and I loved his speech, though it wasn’t better than last year’s BAFTA win for “A Single Man” and his joke about the fridge guy.
I cracked when Annette Bening gave a shout out to Mark Ruffalo for being their “awesome sperm donor”.
My 2 cents. Thanks for this, PCN!
]]>I don’t watch award shows. I’m not really that into them, but I love reading re-caps like this. Excellent.
And Colin Firth? The man is amazing, and ditto about the triangle of man love. All. Over. It.
Now I’m on to your fashion post.
