jenn---I think Tyler looks like Christine Baranski, who's on the THE GOOD WIFE. Naomi---I think I watch the auditions in the beginning because I like seeing talent when it's raw, before it's been processed by Hollywood. But of course that means I have to watch the crazies, too. Shell---Yes, Simon is gone. So are Ellen and Kara. AUSTRALIAN IDOL has been canceled? Paulette---Were you shocked bikini-top girl could sing? I did not expect her to be good at all.

I caught portions of this (I am with Naomi on waiting until Hollywood week the last few years). Your observations seem spot on and I miss Simon, too! I did see the last young man and star-studded-bikini-top girl and was feeling the exact same thing with both.

Oh PCN, you’re hilarious!!

I’m behind the times well and truly. Simon Cowell is gone? Drat. Though I did sometimes heave an “Ouch” at his comments, he knows the goods when he hears them, and his candour is something I can always count on. I don’t have cable now but as they shelved Australian Idol last year, I’m hoping they will show American Idol on free to air here.

Didn’t watch. Haven’t been able to watch the initial train-wreck episodes for a couple of years, and now with Simon Cowell gone, I have no faith that any of the judges are capable of doing just that on a consistent basis.

I’m sorry, but I cannot look at Steven Tyler.Is that surgery? And that hair? Wow.

I didn’t watch, but it sounded kind of blah from some friends’ Facebook posts. Of course, the beginning to me is the best – watching the really sucky people and the ones you just totally don’t expect.
