Shell—Thanks! Neither cowboys nor aliens have great appeal to me but, unlike you, who are made of tougher stuff, I couldn’t stay away from Mr. Craig. I’m ready for THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO now!

jenn—It’s much more a Western than an alien flick so I think you’ll be okay. I know a lot of people who don’t like Wilde and I don’t know why. I think she’s beautiful but also plays smart and kind of edgy. And she can be tough without having a bitchy vibe a la January Jones.

I gotta say: I hate alien movies so so much. But I love westerns, and I love Daniel Craig, so I’m all in.

BUT, I know going into it what I’m basically going to get, and I’m ok with that.

Other thing, I don’t know what it is about Olivia Wilde, but I just don’t really like her. To me, she’s just not a movie star. If you’re going to have one main woman, it has to be someone I actually sort of like. I don’t know.

Love this review, and I agree. I like the back and forth!

Sorry to say the very combination of cowboys and aliens is a Meh for me. Neither appeals. I wavered at thought of Daniel Craig’s posterior, but even that won’t get me over the line. But I love yours and Eric’s banter, PCN!

I checked out those reviews just now. Wow, LAT really didn’t like it. And it’s funny how the NYT mentioned Olivia Wilde’s eyebrows and teeth, too! Of course, we all agree Craig is awesome.

I think you’ll still have fun. It’s not TRANSFORMERS.

I’ll second that “Crap.” (Don’t know how big her role is, but maybe seeing Ana de la Reguera will help, lp13. Or at least remind you to p/u some Kahlua on the way home. ;p)

You guys see Kenneth Turan's review in the L.A. Times today? Between this and the N.Y. Times' one, ouch. Reading the sheer number of producers (5), executive producers (6) and writers (6), I'm sad to say the writing is on the wall. Crap. And I so looked forward to this one. I'll probably still see it, though. Another fine co-review, you two. Thanks.
