The singing conversations irritated me at first, but I got used to it pretty early on.
Brilliant acting.

But I’m glad you (finally) liked a musical, haha, and it’s great that you gave it the thumbs up.

I’ve wanted to, since playing the music in our school orchestra many years ago (and the viola part, as usual, was not very interesting), but never had the chance to go see it on stage. I didn’t realise until recently that there were other movie versions out there! I’m definitely going to see this one though, and my interest originally was simply musical – I’m glad to hear that I’ll be enjoying the acting too!!

It’s like any album. There are some really fantastic songs and then some weaker ones. There are songs I love to sing but not necessarily to watch.

I’ve seen Les Mis on stage, and I Dreamed a Dream and Empty Chairs are favorites. They’re incredibly emotional. I really want to see this, but I also tend to get a bit bored, especially during the songs I don’t like.

I’m super interested to see Hathaway and Jackman’s performances. Both seemed very invested in this film.

And I look forward to watching this one. I did like the one with Perkins. But this Les Miserables’s strong appeal for me is the drama, history and music. It’s full of what tugs at my incurable romantic heart. : ) I enjoyed your honest review, Elyse. And laughed at your falling asleep during the stage version. Lol! I did that once when attending a Wagner opera with a friend. She got upset and didn’t think I appreciated the performance. Told her I did but that particular opera was too darn long! Lol!
