Does it have to be something I found on the internet per se, or can it just be during research? Because I found -in a book – an autopsy report done on a plague victim during the Great Plague of London in 1665, and it was absolutely awesome. I read it with great glee. I’m probably not supposed to say that, am I? I’ve read at least twenty (non-fiction) books on the subject of Yersinia Pestis (the plague otherwise known as the Black Death), and to actually be able to read an autopsy was mesmerising, to hear a contemporary physician describing what physical effects it had on the entire body, inside and out, was super-creepy and shocking. It was also very enlightening.
And yes, of course in my own novels, there is a section where my characters contract the plague. I did not do all that research for nothing, even though it IS fun in its morbidly fascinating way. I’ve been a fan of the Black Death and its history forevever, it’s my favorite disease!
