I don't watch Mozart or The Affair. I did watch a couple eps of Affair's first season and they didn't grab me. I gather you recommend Mozart? I didn't like Lawrence's look overall. The dress is pretty but the hair made her look twice her age and I don't think the necklace, though stunning, was right for the gown. Maybe no necklace, dazzling dangling earrings, and soft loose hair would've been better. "I'd like to thank..." bugs me, too! I would like to do lots of things I don't actually do, so would they like to thank their people or would they just do it?

I liked the bit with Gosling and Pitt, too. Pitt looked the same as he did 20 years ago!

I didn’t notice the too-tight suits, but if Fassbender had been wearing one, I probably wouldn’t complain. 🙂

I was delighted by the wins for “Mozart in the Jungle” and for Maura Tierney as she was phenomenal this past season. I loved Jennifer Lawrence’s dress! Small rant: I wish the winners would stop saying…..”I want to thank…., I need to thank…., I wish to thank….” Just thank them already! Or, ” I owe gratitude to….” I am also sick of hearing, “MY team…” How about THE team or OUR team. So there. ( don’t know why or how this went bold print…sorry)

I agree with your assessment that it was one of the weirdest awards shows I’ve ever seen. Gervais was fun to watch, but no one really found the tone to match him. One of the better bits for me was Pitt and Gosling introducing The Big Short.

I liked most of the outfits, but nothing really stood out. For the guys, in particular, Redmayne did rock it, but it seems like every man’s suit was too tight in the jacket and pants. It looked uncomfortable. New trend?
