I really appreciated how the show depicted the personal journey of each woman. It was understandable how some took longer to join the fight than others. Change can be scary and starting a revolt must be daunting. It wouldn’t have been believable if they all decided at the same time, or frivolously, to jump on the bandwagon. At times I even wanted Patti to back off a little because, despite her being right, she shouldn’t pressure the others while they were clearly uncomfortable and trying to process how a revolt would affect/disrupt their lives.

Norton is still kicking butt! Joy Bryant did a very nice job portraying her. I loved her firm but not aggressive push to get the women on board.

I also saw a cast interview in which Erin Darke was strong and vocal, hardly resembling Cindy!

And yes, the soundtrack is wonderful. I’m glad you mentioned it. The music was among other things I wanted to say about this show but the review was getting long.

I am so happy to read your review of Revolt. I also binged this show and drooled over Patti’s wardrobe. I always adored Nora Ephron and thoroughly enjoyed her appearances. Being a tad bit older than you, I remember the lawsuit. I also remember the music, so Patti’s vinyl obsession spurred me to stop occasionally and spin a few of the same records. The show did an admirable job revealing the fears and reluctance of the women to join in the revolt. In that era we, as young women, were told we could be anything we wanted to be, but the reality was more confusing and difficult. I am sure the next seasons will tackle those issues. My Googling just turned up that the civil rights lawyer, Eleanor Holmes Norton is a Delegate to Congress representing The District of Columbia. Right on!

Wow! You binged the whole thing?! I have gotten through 6 of the 10 episodes and I’m hoping to finish it off tonight.

Yes, Mad Men all over the place, but I think the show has too much going on by itself to make too much of the comparison. I got sucked into this by the performances. The Patti character is the center, but I was riveted by what’s going on with Cindy. I saw an interview with the cast and couldn’t comprehend how different actress Erin Darke is in real life.

Loving the soundtrack!!
