I’m all over the place with Swanson’s work. I was pleased enough with the first, but REALLY liked The Kind Worth Killing. So I was anxious to get my mitts on Her Every Fear. It had a great premise, but man did it irk me. As soon as I found a way to accept some of the character portrayals, the end was a big sad trombone. So now I’m not sure where to go with his next, as I’ve experienced the entire spectrum. I’ll be curious to hear your thoughts when you finish, Sarah. It’s working for more people than not, so I’m definitely minority on this one.

Hi, Sarah! I’m tempted to read FEAR but I got burned by his first book. Have you read any of Swanson’s previous work?

I’ve read WALK AWAY but not CHARTER. I agree the blurb calling Camaro a female Jack Reacher does her no favors. She’s interesting enough on her own.

Cannot deal with anything dealing with the election of 2016. Will not be reading SWAMP FEVER ever. Way too painful.

All the other choices sound good.

I read Walk Away by Sam Hawken and liked it enough to read the prequel The Night Charter. Enjoyable female protagonist, but don’t believe the jacket calling her “a female Jack Reacher”.

Currently reading a meandering Since We Fell by Dennis LeHane. Something about it keeps me hanging in for now.
