I still have a soft spot for the sound of Robby Benson voicing the Beast combined with that ballroom dance sequence in the animated film. And, yes, Jerry Orbach did an amazing job as well. I don’t want to take away from that memory. I’m not boycotting it. In fact, I think all the reasoning behind why some people would boycott is mind boggling. My reluctance in seeing it is based on my fondness for the animated version and a studio’s (and society’s, in general) compulsion to fix something that isn’t broken along with the reluctance to come up with anything original.
