Kathryn Casey, true crime writer and novelist, is generously offering a signed, personalized galley of her upcoming mystery, Blood Lines, to one of my readers, even if you’re outside the U.S.! The book is the second (after last summer’s Singularity) to feature Texas Ranger Sarah Armstrong and here’s a synopsis from Kathryn’s website:
Cassidy Collins is living the dream. The latest teen singing sensation and the darling of the fan magazines, Collins has money and fame. After growing up poor, she’s escaped her trailer park beginnings to become a star. Everything is perfect. Everything except for one complication, a potentially fatal one: the stalker who threatens to take her life.
Meanwhile, Faith Roberts believes her dead sister, Billie Cox, is contacting her from beyond the grave. What does Billie want Faith to know? Is she trying to tell her who pulled the trigger?
A year after tackling the most dangerous case of her career, profiler Sarah Armstrong is back and charged with untangling two troubling cases, that take her from Houston oil mansions to behind the scenes at rock concerts and the world’s biggest rodeo.
In the end, Sarah’s forced into a battle of wits with a brilliant criminal intent on murder.
To be entered in the giveaway, you have to be a subscriber (see below or upper right corner of this blog) and leave me a comment expressing your interest. You’re not automatically entered if you’re already a subscriber; I’d like the ARC to go to someone who really wants it. As previously mentioned, international readers are eligible, too.
I’ll take names through next Monday, June 15, after which I’ll randomly select a winner. If you win, you can impress your friends when they ask you, “What are you reading?” by saying, “Oh, this new book that doesn’t come out until July 21.” You can further impress them by showing off Kathryn’s personalized inscription to you. Even if you don’t read the genre but know someone who might enjoy the book, enter anyway because Kathryn will sign it to whomever you’d like.
Good luck!

June 9, 2009 at 3:39 amOh boy, oh boy, oh boy! {Doing an International Subscriber Happy Dance!} Please put my name into the draw, PCN. And I love the sound of this new Kathryn Casey mystery, so if I’m the very lucky one, I will be keeping it for myself. {Now I’m off to kiss my black cat for luck. Really.}

June 9, 2009 at 7:35 amPCN, you definitely beat Santa Claus! 😉
Ok, I’m a fan of thrillers and mystery books, so of course I’m intested in Katrhyn Casey’s novel!
Plus I must admit I love the idea of boasting about reading a not-yet-published book that is even signed by its author.
Then my French fellow will say “but it’s in English?” and I’ll answer in a haughty tone “Yes darling, and it comes directly from the US” before adding a “Come on, fossil, don’t tell me you’re of those losers who don’t read books in their original language? Man, you’re so out of the loop!…” 😉
Fingers crossed now!

June 9, 2009 at 8:13 amI live in a town that’s so small we barely get cell service so I’ve never been to a book signing. It would be so neat to have a signed book. Please enter me in the giveaway. Thank you.

I love mystery, and I love bragging, ha! No, seriously, though I haven’t read the first one yet (it’s in my “to-read” pile) I’ve heard rave reviews of it, so I’m looking forward to having the second part (whether its a givaway or isn’t).
And as Julien said, you beat Santa. You’ve become the fourth Wise Man (or Woman…)!

June 9, 2009 at 3:39 pmI wish I had enough copies to give one to each of you. I so appreciate all your comments and participation. At least I know the galley will find a good home no matter who wins.
I can’t take credit for being Santa, though. Kathryn is!
Can you please put your happy dance on tape and send me the YouTube link, Shelley P? Have you seen Millenium yet, Julien? What did you think of Star Trek, Poncho?

But i still intend to watch it and will of course let you know my opinion about it!
Shelley P, keep on dancing!

June 11, 2009 at 7:27 pmOhhh… about Star Trek. Totally forgot! I did go to see it, and it was amazing! It’s almost what every trekkie wants (I discovered I’ve been a closeted trekkie for a while). I think the only fault I found there was the lack of social criticism -classic in the original TV series-, but everything else was amazing. And the way they separated from the original timeline, and then avoiding any possible backlash was incredibly smart.
My mom was soooo excited when we left the place, and she even went to tell my dad he has to take her again (My dad is the worst movie-date ever, and that’s saying a lot!).
The movie will definitely be added to my DVD or Blue-ray collection!

June 10, 2009 at 8:33 amHey, this sounds groovy! I’m going to the beach next month and need something to read. This sounds good and, like some of the others, I’m not above waving it about in public and boasting I got it early AND signed! 🙂
