L.A. TIMES Festival of Books Slide Show

As promised, here’s a slide show of the good times I had at the book festival. This was done in fun so please don’t anyone sue me.

All kidding aside, I know how fortunate I am to have this festival in my backyard every year, even luckier that I have books to read. Thank you to the amazing authors and friends who made this weekend a memorable one for me.

Photos by Jen Forbus, le0pard13, Brett Battles and me, but mostly them.

You can see this at work? They’re not blocking the slide show? Hooray! And thank you.

Actually, they still are blocking this at work (confirmed it right now). I was still at home when I viewed the slide show.

FOB is over and you’re still having fun. And that’s just as it should be. Thanks for sharing.

Wish you could’ve come, Naomi. The pics would’ve been raunchier.

You would’ve need the wide angle lens. Pic are better as they are!

Thanks for the great pics and notes. Now that I live in NoCal I have to count on you for my LA event fix. (check with all your favorite authors to see who does signings in the Bay Area…NONE! Well, we do get John Lescroart, but he’s from the town I live in…)

jann, you get loads of great author events up there! Bouchercon is in SF this year, and many of my favorite authors (not sure who yours are) stop by Book Passage in Corte Madera (Isabel Allende is there tonight).

Of course, if you’d like to come down to L.A., I can hook you up, too!

Corte Madera is a tad far, but Isabel Allende has been known to make appearances on the Peninsula. Okay, what I really want is Crais, Coben, Child, Jeff Parker and a few others. Connelly was here a while ago, which was nice.

Not sure about Coben but I know Child and Crais have done events up there. In fact, they’ll be in conversation with each other at Bouchercon in October.

It does seem hard to get Jeff’s publisher to send him north, which stinks. He should be sent everywhere. I think if your local bookstores get enough requests for your fave authors to visit, they’ll pass that on to publishers and it might make a difference. Go stuff the comments box at the store!

Oh, this was so much fun. If I can’t have Groundhog’s Day and do the actual event over and over again, this will make me continue smiling and reliving the fun.

    Thanks PCN! Big Hugs!! xo

Thank YOU, Jen. I’m so glad you made it out. Looking forward to your write-ups on everything, but please don’t mention what I did in that back alley.
