I often pester my pals on social media to post pics of their TBR stacks, or of their loot after they go book shopping, or attend a library sale. Pictures of books make me happy.
Then I realized I never post pics of mine, partly because they’re everywhere, and I’d have to wrangle them into submission before I can take photos of them. But I decided to bite the bullet, and not only arranged them all prettily, but grouped them according to their month of release.
The following are the TBR books I’m most excited about tackling. I’m seriously considering cutting off cable so I can get through all these without distractions.
MARCH/APRIL:
I’m currently reading Leopards, Owls, and Cuckoo’s (the animal theme was not planned) and enjoying them all so far. Sedaris makes me rock with laughter.
Plus e-galleys:
Life After Life by Kate Atkinson
The Famous and the Dead by T. Jefferson Parker
Ordinary Grace by William Kent Krueger
MAY:
JUNE/JULY:
Plus e-galleys:
The Shining Girls by Lauren Beukes
The Execution of Noa P. Singleton by Elizabeth L. Silver
The Impossible Lives of Greta Wells by Andrew Sean Greer
Bad Monkey by Carl Hiaasen
The Last Whisper in the Dark by Tom Piccirilli
Any of these look good to you? What’s in your TBR stack?

March 22, 2013 at 9:41 amWow. This is like heroin to me. Especially since I’m so cover-driven. Love seeing these photos! And there are so many titles in your pics that I’ve never heard of, makes me all atwitter with anticipation. Of course, it’s a catch-22. Part of me wants to like all of them, the other part knows I don’t have time for all of them. 🙂
Can’t wait to hear about them, there’s some goodies in there.

March 23, 2013 at 7:11 amMay looks to be particularly enjoyable. I’ve been waiting a long time for a new book from Richard Lange.

March 23, 2013 at 7:35 amNaomi! How it makes my day to see your name pop up somewhere. Elyse just hipped me to Lange when she mentioned how much she was awaiting this new one. Just got the first, hope to push it up the TBR stack in time. I’m so far behind the times!

March 24, 2013 at 4:49 amI sympathize, I’m pretty far behind the times myself. I’m not cover-driven as a rule, but there’s something so appealing about seeing them all laid out together like this. Makes me want them all, but like you I know I haven’t that kind of time.

Are you a Lange fan, too? I loved THIS WICKED WORLD! It’s been four years! So excited to read ANGEL BABY.
I’m also excited about that juicy Jussi book. I know you and Lauren like him, too. Did you hear there’s a Department Q movie planned for release in October? It’s funny because I was watching ZERO DARK THIRTY and I saw this one actor, Fares Fares, and thought, “He’d make a good Assad if the books get turned into movies.” Hours later, I read that the movie adaptation of KEEPER OF LOST CAUSES has been made and Fares did play Assad!

March 24, 2013 at 4:54 amYes, I really liked Lange’s first book but I think he may have some short stories I haven’t read yet. Oooh, yes, Adler-Olsen is part of the reason May looks so good to me. Lange, Adler-Olsen, and a new Lucas Davenport novel from Sandford. I just hope the weather is nice and warm so that I can plop the toddler into her wading pool while I sit and read. (But spring is certainly taking its time arriving this year.)

March 24, 2013 at 5:23 pmLooked Lange up since I’d not heard of him and if memory serves, he does have a book of stories that won awards.

March 27, 2013 at 8:15 amLordy, that’s a lot of books! Insanity! I can’t believe you already have June/July books.
I’m super curious about Nicola Upson. I’ve seen those covers everywhere lately, and they totally look like something I’d love.
Oh, and cut off the cable.
